Library Classification of Books using Dewey Decimal Classification System
The Dewey Decimal Classification System (D.D.C.) is a standard library classification system which allows books to be classified and added to a library in their appropriate location based on subject. It was first published in the United States by Melvil Dewey in 1876. D.D.C. assigns a particular number to each class and its sub-division classes. The Call Number of a book, that is pasted on the book spine and particular pages of every book, thus reflects the D.D.C. system of subject classification.
